A flight made an emergency landing after a man's excessive flatulence and his refusal to stop started a fight between passengers.
The incident took place Feb. 11 during a Transavia Airlines flight from Dubai to Amsterdam, According to HuffPost, two men complained to the airline crew about another man in their row who was repeatedly passing gas even though the men asked him to stop.
The airline crew did not do anything about the man’s repeated flatulence, and the captain reportedly warned the men to stop complaining, according to Metro.
After the flatulence continued, a fight broke out between the three men, causing the plane to be diverted to Vienna Airport.
Police removed the two men who had complained about the flatulent one, and they also removed two sisters who were in the same row with the three men. The sisters now say they will seek legal action against the airline for removing them because they had nothing to do with the altercation.
Law student Nora Lacchab said being removed from the flight was “humiliating,” Metro reported. “We had nothing to do with the whole disturbance,” Lacchab told Dutch newspaper De Telegraph, adding that she doesn’t want the public to think that “all Moroccans cause problems.”
Lacchab said the crew was “provocative” during the flight and caused more problems rather than calming the situation down.
None of the four removed passengers was arrested because they had not broken any Austrian laws, Metro reported. They have been banned from any future flights on Transavia Airlines, however.
Transavia is standing behind the crew and pilot in the incident, Metro reported.
