'Flip or Flop' Canceled? Reports on HGTV Show's Future Conflicting

Conflicting reports surfaced Wednesday that HGTV's "Flip or Flop" has been canceled, but apparently the stars don't want that to happen.

After the show's married co-stars announced a separation, then a divorce in the middle of filming Season 7, it wouldn't be a huge surprise if “Flip or Flop” doesn't return for an eighth season.

In Touch reported the show’s cancellation, claiming they confirmed it with five sources including a “high level” source at HGTV.

However, TMZ reported the pair "are currently in talks with HGTV for a new season ... and they want to keep the production rolling, despite their divorce."

Christina and Tarek El Moussa split last May after a fight that involved a loaded gun and alleged abusive behavior. Infidelity may also have been involved, Hollywood Life reported.

The couple said they were committed to finishing out Season 7 of the show, which was in the middle of filming when they announced their split in December.

According to Hollywood Live, Christina apparently made the decision not to return to the show for Season 8 on her own, and is working on developing another show on interior design that she hopes to begin. TMZ's report denied Christina was looking to have her own show.

Either way, HGTV is planning five spinoffs of the original “Flip or Flop,” each with different flippers. The first spin-off, "Flip or Flop Las Vegas," will debut April 6. Other cities involved in the spinoffs are Chicago, Nashville, Atlanta, and Texas, Hollywood Life reported.

Plenty of Twitter fans were upset about "Flip or Flop" cancellation reports, but some think it's time.
