Forbes magazine is taking heat on social media for calling Kylie Jenner a "self-made billionaire," with many pointing out she is just a facet of the reality show family empire "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," and the mag even got a grammar tip from Dictionary.com.
Kylie Jenner, the daughter Caitlyn Jenner and "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" manager Kris Jenner, graced the cover of Forbes on Wednesday with a headline that started the social media buzz, Fox News reported.
"At 21, she's set to be the youngest-ever self-made billionaire. Welcome to the era of extreme fame leverage," read the magazine cover with a photo of Kylie wearing a black blazer.
Forbes lauded Kylie Jenner for starting and blossoming Kylie Cosmetics, which sold more than $330 million in products last year and continues to grow, with the star owning 100 percent of the company.
Dictionary.com, though, took exception to calling Jenner "self-made."
Others joined in the criticism.
Others, though, came to Forbes and Jenner's defense.
Jenner said she owed much of her business success to social media, where she has more than 25.5 million Twitter followers and 110 million on Instagram, while her company also has 16.5 million on its photo sharing app, according to Sky News.
