Fran Drescher is single and loving it. Speaking with Closer Weekly, "The Nanny" star said although she was looking for love last year, the coronavirus forced her to put her plans "on a back burner." Now she is happier than ever being on her own.
"I like my bubble small with the people that I know live mindfully," she said. "With strangers, you really don’t know that. I’m also not in a rush to get into another relationship because I’ve never been in such a satisfying relationship with myself as I am right now. I am using this opportunity to enjoy, without any pressure or stress, where I am in life."
Drescher was married to Peter Marc Jacobson for 21 years but they split in 1999 after he came out as gay. Then, in 2014, Drescher tied the know with Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai but two years later they called things off. Drescher is now focusing on nurturing a relationship with herself.
"I’m actually very happy and very connected to myself," she told the outlet. "I always say I’m in a relationship with myself and it’s going quite well. Really, for the first time, I feel very peaceful being alone with myself. I practice Buddhist philosophy and I call myself a Bu-Jew."
Although Drescher has not officially been in a relationship for years, the actor previously revealed that she had a "friend with benefits" on the side.
“[We’re] very comfortable with each other and we have our routine,” she told Page Six last year. "It’s always the same experience. We really don’t go out, we don’t go to restaurants, we don’t date. What we do, we do great."
