A Game of Thrones live concert tour is set to launch in February and includes 28 cities.
Produced by Live Nation, the concert tour will feature composer Ramin Djawadi, and is billed as "an immersive music and visual experience that will bring the Seven Kingdoms to life on a scale never seen before," Entertainment Weekly reported.
Using footage from the HBO television series along with new images, as well as a full orchestra and choir, the production will explore settings including King’s Landing, Winterfell, Kingsroad, The Wall, the Narrow Sea, Braavos, and Meereen.
"The idea behind this is to showcase how the music enhances those experiences for the audience," Djawadi told Time magazine.
"There’s some great, big exciting moments, like for example 'Mesa,' which was when Daenerys frees all the slaves and people will remember that very uplifting moment, but then we will perform some of these heartbreaking moments with real musicians. That’s always very special too because when you see live musicians perform music they put their own emotion into it, and you see a violinist and how their body moves. I think that’s so powerful."
Djawadi said he likes the wide range the characters and settings embody, represented by solo instrumentals as well as large, multi-instrument movements.
Many Twitter users were enthusiastic about the tour announcement.
