Country superstar Garth Brooks confirmed the whispers and rumors on “Good Morning America” Monday that he is going on a world tour in 2014.

Brooks, who has been dodging questions that his recent TV special and album might mean the retired star would hit the road to make music, first told "GMA" host Robin Roberts that an announcement would come “very soon.”

Then he just 'fessed up.

“You know what, since it's you and since we've had a history forever, let's announce it. We're going on a world tour in 2014,” Brooks told Roberts on "Good Morning America." “I can't believe I just did that but you are a doll.”

Brooks, 52 now, retired in 2000, but then recently released a new album “Blame It All on My Roots; Five Decades of Influences.”

His hesitation to tour came from wanting to spend time with his wife, Trisha Yearwood, and also his three daughters, but all are supportive of his decision, he told the "GMA" audience.

“Our baby is a senior in high school," he told Roberts. "My children are off on their own so the guilt of not being there … I'm a phone call dad now. 'Hey Dad, I love you, can I borrow some money?'"

Initially, Brooks said that his age might turn a tour into a “wheelchair and walker tour kind of thing.”

Brooks is one of the best-selling artists in the world. The Recording Industry Association of America ranks him No. 3, falling under The Beatles at No 1. and Elvis Presley in second place. Brooks has sold 128 million albums.

The country singer is just coming off of a stint at the Wynn Las Vegas, and he may bring his band back in January for two more shows, ABC News said.

“Wynn has allowed me to keep that room as a laboratory type of thing so I'm going to bring the band out there and let the band experience this room," Brooks told Roberts. “[It's] very naked. You're just out there with you and your guitar and you depend on the people to kind of take care of you.”
