Gary Dubin Dies: 'Partridge Family' Pal Loses Bone Cancer Battle at 57

Gary Dubin, who played Danny Bonaduce’s friend Punky Lazaar on “The Partridge Family” and had many other TV and movie roles, died Saturday in Burbank at age 57 from bone cancer.

Dubin had a variety of TV and movie roles before and after "The Partridge Family," including the voice of Toulouse in Disney’s 1970 movie "AristoCats," 1971's "Diamonds are Forever," and 1978's "Jaws 2." He had many roles in his younger years on TV shows such as "Green Acres," "Here Come the Brides," and "Eight is Enough."

Later, Dubin did voice work for many Japanese Anime movies and had roles in several American TV series such as "Sonny with a Chance," as well as several movies including "The Locker." He also did voice work for at least one video game, "Brave Fencer Musashi" in the late 1990s, according to Behind the Voice Actors.

Dubin’s sister Lori "Ellie Mae" Dubin told The Hollywood Reporter that Dubin had died.

She shared on her Facebook page that Dubin liked to "tell funny jokes and good stories, and loved to surround himself with his many friends and family. He was always kind, sentimental, and generous to everyone and anyone," Legacy.com reported.

He is also survived by his wife Marietha, mother Barbara, and cousins.
