Gia Allemand Funeral Conducted in NYC as Suicide Details Emerge

As family and friends gathered in New York City for the funeral of Gia Allemand, details surrounding the suicide of the former "Bachelor" contestant continued to emerge.

About 150 people attended Thursday's funeral at Trinity Grace Church in Chelsea, including Allemand's family and Ryan Anderson of the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, her boyfriend at the time of her death, according to E! News.

Anderson found Allemand unconscious in her New Orleans home on Aug. 12 after she apparently hanged herself with a vacuum cord, E! News reported. She was placed on life support, but it was later withdrawn because the 29-year-old reality star and model had suffered a "critical loss of brain and organ function."

The couple argued earlier in the day, with Allemand, who worked in New Orleans as a dance instructor, accusing him of being unfaithful, according to an E! News account of what Anderson told investigators.

According to TMZ.com, Anderson told authorities that he told Allemand, "I don't love you anymore," and after that she told him that she still loved him.

Allemand's mother, Donna Micheletti, told investigators that during a phone call with her daughter, a call made after Allemand and Anderson spoke, the line "had gone silent," according to TMZ.com. Micheletti tried to call her daughter back for 10 minutes before asking Anderson to check on her, according to a TMZ.com account of a report on Allemand's death.

Investigators wrote in the death report that Anderson told them he found Allemand sitting on some stairs with a vacuum cord "wrapped around her neck many times." Authorities said Allemand left a suicide note on the dining room table leaving her property to her mother, according to TMZ.com.

"I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends and fans," Anderson said in a statement on Aug. 14. "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile."

Allemand was one of the final three women on Season 14 of "The Bachelor" in 2010 and also took part in two seasons of the game show follow-up "Bachelor Pad," where castoffs compete for a chance to win $250,000.

On her season of the reality dating show, Allemand competed for the love of pilot Jake Pavelka. She made it to the final three before being eliminated, and Pavelka went on to propose to Vienna Girardi.
