The Golden Globes red carpet was not removed from the news of the day as George Clooney's wife, Amal Alamuddin, was spotted wearing a "Je Suis Charlie" pin on her Dior clutch in support of the French satirical magazine attacked by terrorists last week.
George Clooney, who received the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award at Sunday night's ceremony, spoke about the unity march in France to protest the terrorist attack during his speech.
"There were millions of people who marched not just in Paris, but around the world,"
Clooney said, according to The Daily Beast. "And they were Christians and Jews and Muslims. They were leaders of countries all over the world. And they didn’t march in protest; they marched in support of the idea that we will not walk in fear. We won’t do it. So, Je Suis Charlie. Thank you."
Back on the red carpet, there was wide display of
French fashion, according to the Los Angeles Times, from Dakota Johnson in a Chanel haute couture gown, Jennifer Aniston in a black Yves Saint Laurent column with a chic halter neckline, and Emma Stone in a Lanvin jumpsuit with a crystal bodice and bow-tied sash.
Us Weekly issued its own awards for fashion, saying that Stone had the best surprise details, Emily Blunt had the best earrings, Jennifer Lopez had the best cape, Viola Davis came with the best camouflage, Johnson had the best shine, and Eddie Redmayne and Hannah Bagshawe were the best dressed couple.
There was also a little bit of business on the red carpet as the cast of the movie "Entourage" showed up early to
shoot some final scenes, according to Variety. The HBO series will soon get the big-screen treatment, following in the steps of "Sex in the City" with its own motion picture release scheduled for June 5.
