"Goth" burgers are rolling out next week at Burger Kings across Japan, featuring black buns, black cheese, and black sauce.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Kuro Pearl burger and Kuro Diamond burger were available for a limited time in 2013, and their second debut marks the first occasion where the cheese has been made black. "Kuro" means "black" in Japanese. Both burgers will be available until early November.
"The black burgers sold extremely well because of their visual impact, but people continued to come back for them because of their taste," said a Burger King spokesperson.

The buns and cheese are made black through the use of bamboo charcoal, which gives it the unique color and "adds a nice aroma to the bun as well," the spokesperson said.
The onion and garlic sauce is colored black by mixing it with squid ink.
Last but not least, the hamburger patty itself is prepared with black pepper, but remains its normal color.
The Pearl version of the burger costs ¥480 (roughly $4.50), and the deluxe Diamond burger, which comes with lettuce, tomato, etc., goes for ¥690 ($6.40).
Eater.com tweeted a joke about the burgers that featured Robert Smith of The Cure dreaming of the dark fare.
