Greer Grammer, daughter of Kelsey Grammer and reality star Camille Grammer, will be the next Miss Golden Globe, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced this week.
The annual designation of Mr. or Miss Golden Globe is given to the son or daughter of a celebrity.
Greer Grammer appears on “Awkward” on MTV. She follows Sosie Bacon, daughter of Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick, as Miss Golden Globe.
"We are delighted to have Greer Grammer continue the tradition and have her as our 2015 Miss Golden Globe,"
Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Theo Kingma said in a statement Friday, UPI reported. "She's following in her father's footsteps in becoming a standout actress and we can't wait to see what she does next."
Greer Grammer told UPI that she was flattered to be chosen for the position, which helps out with the Golden Globes.
“It's truly an honor to be included in this experience that so many incredible men and women have been a part of," she told UPI. "I didn't even tell my dad because I knew he'd tell everybody and it had to be a secret until the [announcement] party. I'm so excited. It's going to be a wonderful year and so much fun. I'm really looking forward to being on stage with [Globes hosts] Amy Poehler and Tina Fey because I'm such a huge fan of them both. It still hasn't really hit me that I will be up there with so many amazing people I have looked up to for so long."
After the Thursday night announcement, Greer Grammer tweeted:
The 72nd Golden Globes will be on NBC Jan. 11.
Greer Grammer was on "Access Hollywood Live" to talk about her award, but what got her grinning like a “fangirl,” she posted on Instagram, was meeting Papa Pope (Rowan Pope).
