Olympic diving champion Greg Louganis married partner Johnny Chaillot Saturday in a "reflective" California sunset ceremony.

Louganis, 53, was accompanied down the aisle by his former Olympic diving coach Ron O'Brien and Chaillot, 52, was joined by his four sisters as the couple wed in front of about 160 guests at Geoffrey's in Malibu, People magazine reported.

"It was amazing because I have so many people from all facets of my life here tonight and they are all here and celebrating it is all wonderful," Louganis told People after the ceremony. "I already feel different. The ceremony was so reflective and representative of who we are."

Louganis and Chaillot, a paralegal at the Los Angeles-based law firm Loeb & Loeb, met on Match.com in 2012, hit it off, and became engaged back in April.

In place of a traditional wedding registry, the couple asked guests to donate money to the Human Rights Campaign or Mending Kids International.

"We are both in our mid fifties and don't need another blender so we really wanted to give back," Chaillot said of their choice.

Louganis is best known as the four-time gold medalist who won back-to-back Olympic titles in springboard and platform diving at the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympics.

After his diving career ended, Louganis revealed he was gay in 1994 and announced he was HIV-positive a year later. He now works as an athlete mentor for USA Diving, and was also featured recently as a celebrity coach on ABC's reality diving competition "Splash."

Many people took to Twitter to congratulate Louganis and Chaillot on their special day.
