Disney revealed Thursday that Han Solo may not be the beloved "Star Wars" character’s real name and said the anthology film about his life in production now will reveal that information.
The internet reacted to the bombshell dropped by CEO Bob Iger during a University of Southern California lecture with shock and disbelief that the iconic character might have had a different name when he was young.
"There are a few significant things that happen in Han Solo’s life, like acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookie that will happen in this film,” Iger said. “But you also discover how he got his name.”
The Independent speculated it might be a funny or embarrassing name because of involvement of directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (of “21 Jump Street,”) but most Twitter commenters seemed flabbergasted by the idea that Solo could have ever gone by a different moniker.
