Harvey Weinstein doesn't seem to be taking sex rehab very seriously, falling asleep in therapy sessions, only waking up when his his phone rings and remaining in denial about the allegations against him, the New York Post’s Page Six reported, citing a source.
The Hollywood mogul, who is embroiled in a sexual harassment scandal that sees him facing numerous allegations of both harassment and assault, voluntarily entered into a rehabilitation center for sexual addiction with the hope of that he could still redeem his name
Weinstein was first thought to be receiving treatment at an inpatient facility but Page Six said he is being treated at an intensive outpatient facility, which frees him up to spent nights at a hotel instead.
The rehab center is rumored to be a luxury facility in Arizona, per the Daily Mail, and offers group therapy sessions and one-on-one counseling, but Weinstein has apparently been acting up in these sessions.
“In one group therapy session, Harvey arrived 15 minutes late,” a source told Page Six.
“Then, when it was his turn to speak, he launched into a speech about how this is all a conspiracy against him.”
Weinstein reportedly fell asleep in his chair during a group therapy session when others were sharing their stories.
“He was only woken up by the ringing of his smuggled mobile phone [which is banned at the facility] . . . Harvey jolted awake, jumped up, immediately took the call and then ran out of the room,” the source said.
Another source close to Weinstein told Page Six that Weinstein was no longer participating in group sessions but was instead undergoing individual treatment.
“He insists he never raped or assaulted anyone, and that all the encounters were consensual. He realizes he has acted like an a - - hole, but he still insists he’s not a rapist,” the source said.
