Harvey Weinstein was slapped by an unidentified man while dining at a resort in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Tuesday, according to a video obtained by TMZ.
The Hollywood mogul, who is embroiled in sexual harassment allegations, was at the Elements restaurant located at the Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Resort when the incident occurred, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
A man, referred to as Steve by TMZ, said he approached Weinstein's table, claiming to be a fan and asking for a photo, at which point Weinstein allegedly became hostile, although the hotel manager argued that he was "sweet about it," saying he would prefer not to be in a photo, TMZ reported.
According to TMZ, the two men shook hands and Steve went back to his table, but the atmosphere changed after a few drinks.
At around 9 p.m. both parties got up to leave when Steve walked up to Weinstein and swore at him for "what he did to those women" before attempting to punch him in the face, according to TMZ.
Steve told TMZ that Weinstein stumbled backward and almost fell but the restaurant manager said the punches did not connect and that the man was drunk and disorderly.
Video of the incident shows Weinstein's dinner companion try to stop footage from being shot while the man yells expletives, People magazine noted.
The Hollywood Reporter noted that the resort did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the incident but Weinstein's representative confirmed in an email that "the TMZ report is accurate."
