A Hawaiian Airlines flight going from Las Vegas, Nevada, to Honolulu, Hawaii, was diverted to Los Angeles International Airport on Wednesday after a passenger complained about having to pay for a blanket.

The plane took off and was in the air when a 66-year-old male passenger became cold and asked if he could have a blanket. He was told he could purchase a blanket for $12, and he became angry and complained that he shouldn’t have to pay for the blanket when the airplane was cold, the Los Angeles Times reported.

He asked the flight attendant to speak to the corporate office, and was speaking to them during an in-flight phone call when he is alleged to have said, “I would like to take someone behind the woodshed for this,” the Times reported.

After he made that comment, the plane was diverted to LAX, where it landed at about 10:20 a.m.

Police were called to take care of an “unruly passenger,” and they interviewed the man along with federal authorities but ultimately let him go and he caught another flight, the Times reported.

The original Hawaiian flight did take off again for Honolulu as well, Fox 11 News reported.

The passenger’s name was not released by the airline or the police.

Twitter was rather incredulous.
