The so-called "Human Barbie," Valeria Lukyanova, claimed she was strangled and beaten in an attack near her home in the Ukraine on Halloween following two years of anonymous threats, resulting in facial injuries.
Lukyanova, 28, denied to the
Daily Mail that story was a ruse to cover for new plastic surgery that the Daily Mail stated was rumored on the Internet. The Daily Mail reported that Lukyanova was recovering from swollen lips and head.
"I was attacked by the entrance of my block of flats," the Barbie doll model told the Daily Mail. "I came back home from a shop with bags and entered the door code when two men rushed from the dark and attacked me. They said nothing and did not try to rob me. It happened in a flash, they hit me on the head, several times on my jaw, then one of them began strangling me."
'If it wasn't for my neighbor who suddenly appeared, I don't know what would have happened. They saw her and ran away," Lukyanova continued.
She told the Daily Mail she has been receiving threats from strangers for two years in the form of strangers calling her phone. She told the newspaper that her jaw still hurts badly and she has to take strong pain killers to sleep at night.
Lukyanova found herself the target of controversy for comments she made in
GQ magazine earlier this year, blaming what she called race mixing for the rise in plastic surgery.
"Ethnicities are mixing now, so there's degeneration, and it didn't used to be like that," Lukyanova told GQ. "Remember how many beautiful women there were in the 1950s and 1960s, without any surgery? And now, thanks to degeneration, we have this. I love the Nordic image myself. I have white skin; I am a Nordic type - perhaps a little Eastern Baltic, but closer to Nordic."
Lukyanova first gained notoriety as the Human Barbie through YouTube video she posted of herself and her unusually thin, doll-like body that went viral,
according to HollywoodGossip.com.
