Ichiro Suzuki is one of the few people in sports who didn’t have a clue who Tom Brady was.

According to The Athletic, the not-quite-retired MLB outfielder — he moved from the field to the Seattle Mariners front office last week — received a text message from the five-time Super Bowl winner in 2017.

Brady, the star quarterback of the New England Patriots, had a question about stretching routines.

The incident came during spring training while Ichiro was scanning through his text messages in the coach’s room, The Athletic reported.

Brady got the outfielder’s number from Yankees star turned broadcaster Alex Rodriguez, but when Ichiro received the message, he didn’t recognize either the number or the name, so he asked if anyone else had heard of him.

“What’s the guy’s name?” asked one of the coaches, The Athletic reported.

After scanning to the end of the text, he replied, “Some guy named Tom Brady. Who the f*** is Tom Brady?”

The outfielder’s quote is sure to have every Patriots-hating football fan grinning from ear-to-ear. It got its share of laughter on social media as well.
