Ireland Baldwin Defends Dad Alec Baldwin, 'Far From Homophobic'

By    |   Monday, 18 November 2013 06:54 PM EST

Alec Baldwin’s aspiring model teen daughter Ireland Baldwin jumped into the fray on Twitter to defend her father as he’s being destroyed in the media for a homophobic slur and other recent angry behavior.

This despite the fact that a voicemail message Baldwin left Ireland calling her a “thoughtless little pig” went viral in 2007 and raised more than a little criticism for the actor.

Although Ireland started out just stating a point of view in support of her father, who is well known for his temper, she’s engaged in some harsh conversations online with Baldwin’s detractors. The actor has been suspended from his talk show on MSNBC over the homophobic comment he tossed at paparazzi.

Ireland acknowledged her dad has some issues, but still loves him just the same.

Baldwin's new show may have been a casualty of the outburst though — MSNBC has suspended it for two weeks, and its future seems rocky.
