Actor Jackie Chan, known for his stunning martial arts battles in countless movies, has been immortalized in 64,000 chopsticks.

The action star turned 60 on April 7 and received a birthday gift of a portrait made from chopsticks, a tribute from Malaysian artist-architect Hong Yi. She spent about a month planning the project, collecting the materials and constructing the piece, according to Yahoo News.

Why chopsticks?

"It wasn't easy to choose the material for Jackie's piece. He is a world famous actor, an exceptional martial arts fighter, an environmentalist, and one of the most well-known faces internationally!" Yi explained in a YouTube video. "I finally decided on chopsticks because Jackie had used them in some of the fighting scenes in his movies the Fearless Hyena and Karate Kid, and because chopsticks are Chinese. As he is also an environmentalist, I used disposable bamboo chopsticks to show that discarded materials can be reused and made into something meaningful and beautiful. This art installation is a tribute to the life, art and cultural significance of Jackie Chan."

To thank Yi for the present, which was given to him in Beijing on April 6 during a birthday celebration concert, Chan co-starred in the video with Yi. In the clip, the duo engage in a chopsticks fight, and Chan concedes that Yi the "master."

Chan has been acting since the 1960s, and has appeared in more than 150 films, including "Rush Hour," "Cannonball Run II," and "Crime Story."

Earlier this week, it was announced that Chan would reprise his role as Mr. Han for the sequel of the 2010 remake "The Karate Kid," alongside Jaden Smith.

Chan isn't the first celebrity to catch Yi's artistic eye. Her YouTube channel features videos of her making portraits of former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming, singer Adele, and Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg.
