The new "Jackie" trailer with Natalie Portman as the late first lady has gone viral with more than 700,000 views on YouTube as the Oscar winner creates positive buzz about her portrayal.

Portman, who won the best actress Academy Award in 2011 for "Black Swan," plays Jackie Kennedy as she survived the assassination of President John F. Kennedy in 1963 and planned for his funeral. The movie is set for limited release on Dec. 2, Entertainment Weekly reported.

"Jackie," which is scheduled for limited release, won best screenplay at Venice Film Festival and the Platform Prize at the Toronto International Film Festival, Deadline.com reported.

"I've grown accustomed to a great divide between what people believe and what I know to be real," Portman says in the trailer as Jackie Kennedy. "There should be more horses, more soldiers… more crying, more cameras… I'm not the first lady anymore. I lost Jack somewhere. What was real? What was performance?"

The film and Portman received praise after the release of the newest trailer.

"If you were wondering what all of that film-festival buzz was about, look no farther than the latest trailer for 'Jackie' — which offers viewers their most in-depth look yet at the masterpiece from Chilean filmmaker Pablo Larrain, starring Natalie Portman as the title character," Vanity Fair writer Julie Miller said.

"Portman's performance has already been tipped as the one to beat come next year's Oscar season, and the new preview shows viewers why. The Academy Award winner channels Jackie's iconic vocal delivery, fragility, and demure strength in a series of close-ups that telegraph the First Lady's heartbreak in a way that has never been portrayed this viscerally before," Miller continued.

Devon Ivie, of Vulture, also praised Portman's performance, writing about the trailer: "Set off the Oscar sirens, because the race for best actress has formally begun."

"Today" show writer Gina Vivinetto wrote that the movie was "chilling" in its historical accuracy.

"The trailer, which re-creates the grisly assassination of 35th president John F. Kennedy, features Oscar winner Portman wearing the same pink skirt suit and pillbox hat Jackie Kennedy wore on that fateful 1963 day in Dallas," Vivinetto wrote. "… Critics have raved about Portman's performance, with many predicting she'll nab her third Oscar nomination for the role."
