Jane Fonda's Vietnam opposition was a sore spot for a Kentucky theater owner who trained pilots during the Vietnam War and now he is refusing to show the nation's top movie, "The Butler" because one of the stars is Jane Fonda playing Nancy Reagan.
Ike Boutwell owns MoviePalace and Showtime Cinemas in Elizabethtown. He told
The News-Enterprise he won't show the popular flick about a butler who served eight U.S. presidents because it has Fonda starring as former first lady.
Boutwell said Fonda's statements and demonstrations against the Vietnam War caused him to view her as a traitor, and he won't show any movie involving her in his theaters,
The Associated Press reported.

The Korean War veteran said: "I trained hundreds of pilots to fly, many of whom Ms. Fonda clapped and cheered as they were shot down."
Jane Fonda's turn as Nancy Reagan in the "The Butler" has angered veterans across the country and many veterans' groups are picketing the film outside at their local movie theaters.
Fonda sparked controversy in 1972 when she visited enemy territory in North Vietnam and was photographed sitting on top of an anti-aircraft battery. That picture and her opposition to the war — she was once quoted calling American soldiers murderers — earned her the nickname "Hanoi Jane."
"I know people say, 'Oh my gosh, Jane Fonda is playing Nancy Reagan.' But I don't think that whatever difference there might be in our politics really matters. As an actor, I approach her as a human being," said the actress, adding:
"I happen to know that she's not unhappy that I'm playing her."
The movie has also been criticized for historical inaccuracy. A top Ronald Reagan historian says the nation's 40th president is not portrayed accurately in the Lee Daniels' film based on a real-life White House servant who worked under eight presidents
"Is it how the butler remembers it? It's certainly not an accurate representation of history," said
Craig Shirley, author of "Reagan's Revolution: The Untold Story of the Campaign That Started It All."
