'Duck Dynasty''s Jase Robertson Shaves Beard for Charity

By    |   Thursday, 07 September 2017 07:57 AM EDT

“Duck Dynasty” regular Jase Robertson has shaved his signature beard and cut his long hair in response to money raised for his family’s charity MiaMoo Fund, which supports research and treatment of cleft palate in children.

Robertson, 48, committed to the shave and haircut if his followers could raise $100,000 for the foundation, the Houston Chronicle reported. Even though only $35,000 was raised, Robertson decided to go through with the shave anyway.

Robertson’s daughter Mia has had four surgeries after being born with a cleft palate, which led to the formation of the charity.

“It’s been a life-changing experience for me and Missy because of how shallow we used to think,” Robertson said, Life & Style reported.

Thirteen-year-old Mia is now sharing her story on social media, recently posting, “Why should you try to fit in when God made you to stand out?”

Robertson’s wife Missy seemed happiest with Jase's new look. She posted a picture on Twitter of herself hugging a clean shaven Jase and smiling up at him. “I guess you could say I’m a little happy,” the caption deadpanned.

Jase also posted that she seemed enamored with the new look, thanking the stylist for the shearing.

There were several before and after shots for comparison posted to Twitter.
