Radio legend Casey Kasem is being treated at a Washington state medical facility after he was taken there via court order from a residence west of Seattle on Sunday where the ailing star and his wife Jean Kasem had been staying. The order was obtained by his daughter Kerri Kasem.
Kerri Kasem told a Kitsap County court on Friday that her father was suffering from bedsores along with lung and bladder infections,
according to the Seattle Times. The judge ruled in Kerri Kasem's favor, stating she could pick a doctor of her choosing to examine her father, stated the newspaper.
Kerri Kasem's spokesman Danny Deraney told
The Associated Press that she accompanied her father, 82, when an ambulance took him Sunday from the Seattle-area residence for care.

That exchange, though, happened with some drama that has come to characterize the tension between Kasem's children from his first marriage and his current wife Jean.
When Kerri Kasem arrived at the Washington state home with an ambulance Sunday, the residents there refused to let paramedics inside,
reported NBC News. Then someone inside called 911 and a second ambulance and fire truck arrived.
NBC News reported that Jean Kasem, 59, then threw a pound of raw hamburger meat at her stepdaughter before paramedics were finally allowed in to retrieve her husband.
"In the name of King David, I threw a piece of raw meat into the street in exchange for my husband to the wild rabid dogs," Jean Kasem said, according to NBC News, claiming she was following a King James Bible verse.
Last month,
Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Daniel S. Murphy ordered adult protective services and court investigators to locate Kasem after Jean Kasem's attorney told the court that the long-time host of the "American Top 40" radio show was no longer in the United States but he did not know where he was, reported Newsmax.
Authorities found Kasem three days later in Washington state but did not know his condition.
Kasem, who had been reportedly in poor health in recent years, is suffering from a form of dementia called Lewy Body Disease that had previously been incorrectly diagnosed as an advanced form of Parkinson's disease, Kerri Kasem stated in recent court filings.
