Jennifer Lopez spent several days with her ex, Ben Affleck, in Montana, it has emerged.
The former couple, who were engaged in 2002 but split two years later, were spotted in a car together driving near a resort in Big Sky, where Affleck has a home, then seen arriving back in L.A. Saturday on a private jet, sources told People.
"[Jennifer] spent several days with Ben out of town. They have a strong connection. It's all been quick and intense, but Jennifer is happy," one insider told the outlet.
Photos of their outing, which took place days after they were spotted at Lopez's Los Angeles home, were made public by the Daily Mail.
Lopez and Affleck first met in 2002, while filming for their movie "Gigli" and by November they were engaged, according to In Touch Weekly. They were set to tie the knot in September 2003 but postponed their wedding days before walking down the aisle. At the time they said it was due to the "excessive media attention," but in January 2004 they split.
"All the last-minute, broken engagement drama is behind them," a source told In Touch. "They had hashed that out years ago, even though Jen still gives him grief about it, which he admits he deserves … it’s all in the past."
The insider noted that the former couple have matured since their split and were getting along well.
"Jennifer still cares for Ben, she never really stopped. Apparently, they reconnected like no time had passed," the source said.
"They have a lot of love for each other. They have always admired each other," another insider told People.
Now Lopez and Affleck are "very happy to be in each other’s lives and are taking it one day at a time," In Touch’s source added, noting that they "are smiling from ear to ear, catching up on all they’ve been through, talking about their kids, projects, it’s like two old friends reuniting."
The reports come just under a month after Lopez and fiancé Alex Rodriguez parted ways.
Rumors that they had split up began circulating in March, but days later Lopez and Rodriguez, who were a couple since 2017, dismissed the reports as inaccurate. They did however note that they were "working through some things."
Then, in mid-April, they announced that they were calling off their two-year engagement in a joint statement.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," Lopez and Rodriguez said. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
