Jennifer Love Hewitt Fiance Brian Hallisay Clocks Paparazzo

“Client List” star Brian Hallisay is facing a battery investigation after he apparently got a little forceful with a paparazzo trailing him and his pregnant fianceé, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Hewitt, who co-stars on the Lifetime show, and Hallisay were leaving Toscana restaurant in Los Angeles when a photographer persistently clicked a camera in their faces, UPI.com reported. The two asked him to stop and when he didn’t, Hallisay apparently “got in his face.”

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to E! Online that a battery report was taken against Hallisay and said the incident is under investigation.

The photographer, who was not identified, said his camera hit him in the face during the assault and he was injured, according to E!

Hewitt apparently felt bad after the confrontation and let the photographer take a few more pictures – to no avail. He headed straight to the police station after leaving the couple, E! said.

Hallisay’s conflict with the paparazzo seems relatively mild compared to reported incidents, and lawsuits, other stars have been involved in. CNN.com recapped some of the biggest cases in a “Celebs Clash with Paps” article last week.

The list of stars reacting strongly to camera-lugging press is long – Alec Baldwin, Justin Timberlake, Cameron Diaz, Miley Cyrus, singer Pink, to name a few.

Jennifer Garner and Halle Berry are determined to do something about the intrusive press, according to the Guardian. They testified this month to get a bill passed to strengthen California laws to protect stars’ children. The two argue that offspring didn’t ask to be born in the public eye, so they shouldn’t have to face the constant media exposure. .

“I chose a public life and understand that this means sacrifices in terms of privacy for our jobs,” Garner told a California committee considering the law. “However my three children are private citizens and more than that – at one, four and seven-years-old – they're just little kids.”
