Jenny McCarthy and Brooke Shields are reportedly the top contenders to fill the vacancies on ABC's "The View" now that Elisabeth Hasselbeck has left and Joy Behar and Barbara Walters are retiring soon.
Hasselbeck left the talk show Wednesday after a decade, announcing that she will move to Fox as the new co-host of the morning program "Fox & Friends."
"Elisabeth's warm and engaging personality made her a star on 'The View,'" Fox News head Roger Ailes said in a statement. "She has proven to be an excellent conversationalist and I am certain she will make a great addition to our already successful morning franchise."

Barbara Walters, who created "The View" in 1997, announced her retirement in May. Starting in May 2014, she will stay on as an executive producer of the show but will no longer appear on the panel.
"It has been an absolutely joyful, rewarding, challenging, fascinating, and occasionally bumpy ride and I wouldn't change a thing," Walters said of her 52-year television career. "I am perfectly healthy. This is my decision. I have been thinking about it for a long time and this is what I want to do."
"The View" will also lose Joy Behar next month, and there are reports that Whoopi Goldberg is considering leaving too.
McCarthy, 40, has been a favorite to join the panel since March, when rumors started swirling that the former Playboy centerfold-turned-autism activist and anti-vaccine advocate would replace Behar.

There is no deal yet, but McCarthy is reportedly in
"serious talks" with ABC to become one of the new hosts, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Brooke Shields, 48, is also another contender.
She would replace Hasselbeck, the Los Angeles Times reported. The Princeton-educated former model has made her share of headlines, once sparring with actor Tom Cruise after he criticized her use of antidepressants to treat her postpartum depression.
