Jessa Duggar, third eldest child on TLC's "19 Kids and Counting" reality show, tied the knot with Ben Seewald on Saturday, though the couple saved their first-ever kiss for after the ceremony.
"They wanted their very first kiss ever to be in private," Pastor Mike Schadt
told People magazine. "It was important to the both of them."
Jessa's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, kissed instead to the delight of the gathered crowd of more than 1,000.
"So, now you've seen a Duggar kiss," Schadt said.
During the ceremony, 21-year-old Jessa and 19-year-old Ben exchanged vows and poured two vases of sand into one vessel to symbolize their union. She wore a blush gown from Tesori Bridal in Fayetteville, Arkansas, which featured a beaded bodice of Swarovski crystals and pearls.
After the reception, guests were treated to brownies and ice cream sundaes instead of cake, and blew bubbles as the couple left for the reception in a horse-drawn carriage.
The wedding was taped for the family's reality show, and a wedding episode will air next year.
"Ben is a peacemaker and a gentle, kind man," said Jessa's mom, Michelle, 49. "I am grateful for the way the Lord brings two people together. We love Jessa so much and are so happy for her."
Ben is the oldest of seven children from a Hot Springs, Arkansas, family, and asked for Duggar's hand in August. The two began a courtship in September 2013.
Jessa's older brother Josh, 26, is married with three children, and her older sister Jill, 23, is expecting her first child with husband Derick Dillard.
