Most people share photos of their meals, their outfits, or beautiful scenery on
Instagram. Jesse James, on the other hand, shares photos of his right pinky finger moments after it was chopped off.
The 44-year-old former husband of Sandra Bullock cut off the top of his right pinky finger in a shop accident in his garage on Monday and then posted three photos of his hand and the severed digit, for nearly 113,000 followers to see.

The gruesome photos depict his hand just before he went into surgery. In one photo,
James is doing a "rock on" gesture with his right hand, with his mouth open as if he is about to scream at a metal concert.
"Heading 2 Surgery #jessejames #westcoastchoppers #StillMetal," he captioned the photo, posting it just before seeing doctors.
In an up close shot of his hand and the tip of the pinky, he put it lightly: "Doesn't look like this little dude's gonna make it, Nice know'n you little buddy," an extreme juxtaposition to the gruesome shot.
James is a motorcycle customizer who was reportedly working in his Austin, Texas garage when the accident happened. One of his gloves got caught in a machine, slicing off the top of his finger.
James called TMZ on his way to surgery sounding pretty nonchalant, "like it was just another Tuesday," the outlet reported.
"My wife (Alexis DeJoria) and I were on the floor looking around for the finger so we could put it on ice and haul a-- to the hospital," he told TMZ.
Even though they found the pinky tip, doctors told James it couldn't be re-attached.
"They're going to take a skin graft of the chunk of finger and then sew it back on," James told TMZ, saying that he had refused morphine for his mangled digit. "I asked them if they could sew my fingerprint on upside down, just for fun."
James was the host of the reality TV shows "Jesse James is a Dead Man" on Spike TV and "Monster Garage," on the Discovery Channel. He was also the focus of the documentary "Motorcycle Mania" on Discovery. James' latest series, "Jesse James Outlaw Garage," premiered last month on Discovery and chronicles his custom builds at his Austin Speed Shop.
