Jessica Dutro, an Oregon mom on trial for her son's murder, allegedly subjected her 4-year-old to daily beating because she thought he was gay.
Dutro, 25, is on trial in Washington County Circuit Court this week for murder, murder by abuse, and second-degree assault in connection to the 2012 death of her son, Zachary Dutro-Boggess. Prosecutors say Dutro beat her son on a daily basis, causing trauma to his abdomen and tears in his bowels, which ultimately led to
his death in August 2012, according to OregonLive.com.
Facebook messages between Dutro and her boyfriend, Brian Canady, were introduced in court this week showing that the mom regularly inflicted physical beatings on all three of her kids. But Zachary bear the brunt of her aggression, prosecutors argued.

In one message to Canady, Dutro wrote that she knew her son was going to be gay.
"He walks and talks like it. Ugh," she wrote along with a gay slur, adding that Canady would have to "work on" him.
According to The Portland Tribune, Canady pleaded guilty earlier this month to first-degree manslaughter and second-degree assault in the boy's death. He reportedly told police at the time of his 2012 arrest that he once kicked Zachary in the stomach while wearing shoes.
A judge also ruled this week that Dutro's web history was admissible evidence. The mom reportedly searched "anger management" and "parenting classes" and also perused website listings for free items and sex with strangers on Aug. 16, 2012 — the day Zachary was taken off life support after being hospitalized for two days.
