Jill Biden no longer sees herself as a friend of Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham. The comment comes amid impeachment efforts against President Donald Trump.
Biden, who said she and husband used to be great friends with the South Carolina Republican, said he has "changed" and his actions have been "hurtful."
Their relationship started to strain after Graham's call to investigate her husband, former Vice President Joe Biden, her stepson Hunter, and their ties to Ukraine.
Joe Biden then criticized Graham for doing the bidding of Trump, who sought the investigation into their alleged corrupt engagements in Ukraine.
Addressing the ordeal, Jill Biden on Monday told CNN's John Berman on "New Day" that she was no longer a friend to Graham.
The discussion came about when Berman mentioned "Lindsey Graham, the senator from South Carolina whom I think you count as a friend?"
Jill Biden quickly corrected him.
"We did, yes," she said, adding that she did not know "what happened to Lindsey."
At one point they were "great friends," she said. "I mean, we traveled together with the [Senate] Foreign Relations Committee. We've had dinner. You know, and now he's changed."
Berman then asked her if she considers Graham a friend now.
"You know, it's hard when you, I don't know, consider somebody a friend and then they've said so many things, so many negative things," Jill Biden said. "That's been a little hurtful."
There has been increased pressure during the impeachment effort for the Senate to bring in Hunter Biden as a witness for the trial. On Sunday, Graham said the Senate would push for testimony from him but Jill Biden defended her stepson.
"Hunter has done nothing wrong," she told CNN. "Why would Hunter be called? Donald Trump should be before that committee."
