Jim Harbaugh's "dad pants" makeover is the focus of a new Father's Day ad for Dockers narrated by none other than the San Francisco 49ers coach's wife, Sarah Harbaugh.
Sarah Harbaugh, who has publicly complained in the past about her husband's fashion sense — or lack thereof, has a little fun at his expense in the one-minute ad.
"I'd like to talk to you about a serious condition affecting countless men in our country," she deadpans in the new commercial, posted on YouTube Wednesday. "I'm talking, of course, about dad pants: The shapeless, pleated tragedy that too many men find themselves in everyday. I was there . . . My handsome, vibrant, and successful football coach husband suddenly looked like he hung the curtains from his belt."

Sarah Harbaugh goes on to say that her husband is a "whole new man" since wearing Dockers. Jim Harbaugh then appears in the new trousers as his young daughter asks, "Mom, who's that?"
"That's your dad," Mrs. Harbaugh replies.
"Just in time for Father's Day, San Francisco 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh's wife Sarah has filmed a pants-related PSA warning people about the dangers of
'dad pants,'" writes USA Today of the Dockers spot. "The ad pokes fun her husband's sideline style and admitted habit of wearing $8 Walmart pants."
The Dockers appear to be a compromise for the Harbaughs after Sarah took her "dad pants" complaints to a local San Francisco radio station during a January interview, which made national headlines.
"I threw [the dad pants] out and when he went to the combine, [and he went out and] he found a Walmart," she told 99.7 FM's "Fernando & Greg" show at the time. "They were $8 ... $8! … And he pulls them up to the middle of his stomach; I'm like this is not a good look. You’re aging yourself 50 years. You look like Rain Man. I try every day, but you gotta let people be who they are. And that’s who he is and I still love him."
