Jimmy Fallon and Christina Aquilera dressed up in disguise and go busking at New York City’s Rockefeller Center subway station on Thursday and their performance had commuters enthralled.

The undercover acoustic session was arranged as a stint for "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" and while the duo did their best to hide their identities, their attempts were futile, People noted.

As soon as Aquilera, who wore a brown wig, dark shades and an oversized hat, opened her mouth to sing it was obvious who she was.

Her unmistakable voice complemented the cover of Aretha Franklin’s "Think," which she performed with Fallon, who wore a long wig, sunglasses, hat and fake goatee and played the banjo.

They ended the song to a sea of applause, at which point Fallon revealed their identities.

"We’d like to do one more song for you if you don’t mind right here," he told the gathering crowd, according to People.

"First we’d like to introduce ourselves, my name is Jimmy Fallon and this is Christina Aguilera. Welcome to New York City and welcome to the subway!"

The two then launched into a version of Aquilera's 2002 single, "Fight."

Later Thursday night, Aquilera then delivered a polished performance of her new single "Fall in Line" during her studio appearance on the "Tonight Show."

The session may smack of a publicity stunt to mark the release of Aquilera's new album "Liberation," however it seemed to do the trick as by Friday morning she and Fallon had made headlines.

This is Aguilera's first studio album in five years, and it is creating a buzz.

Her first single, "Accelerate," which was produced by Kanye West, dropped earlier this year to rave reviews.
