Nicole Kidman shocked Jimmy Fallon on the "Tonight Show" on Tuesday when he realized he missed a chance to date the actress years ago.

“Wait. What?!” Fallon exclaimed after Kidman said she liked him when they first met at his apartment with a mutual friend. “What are you talking about? Did I date Nicole Kidman?”

Kidman recalled how Fallon barely spoke to her, leading her to believe he had no interest in her and even question whether he might be gay. Fallon feigned walking off the set.

The interview continued awkwardly.

“I can’t believe I dated Nicole Kidman. This is fantastic,” Fallon said, telling the actress that she made a good decision.

“Keith Urban is so much cooler than I am,” he said, referring to Kidman’s marriage to the country singer.

Fallon is married to producer Nancy Juvonen.

Fallon commented about the exchange on Twitter.

Twitter users were amused by the story.
