Comic legend Joan Rivers, known for her raunchy jokes about celebrities, criticized Adele for her weight during a HuffPost Live interview Friday.
Rivers said the Grammy-winning singer should "lose weight!"

"She's a chubby lady who's very, very rich, and she should just calm down
— or lose weight!" Rivers told HuffPost Live. "
Adele is beautiful and successful. Let's face reality: she's fat!"
This isn’t the first time Rivers has joked about the celebrity's weight. Adele has responded by asking the 79-year-old to apologize, but Rivers quipped about the request in the interview.
"She wanted an apology, so I took an ad out on her a**," Rivers said. "I said, 'You are not fat.' And then I had room for a lot of other ads."
During a Feb. 26 appearance on "The Late Show With David Letterman," Rivers mocked Adele for her appearance at the Academy Awards.
"She was very scared because she was singing at the awards. She kept saying, 'My throat, my throat I don't know if I can swallow,'" Rivers said, referring to the singer. "And I said, 'Oh, yeah! You can swallow.'"
Adele, 24, gave birth to her first child in October and opened up about her weight in a USA Today interview last November.
"I've always been a size 14-16 and been fine with it," said the British singer. "I would only lose weight if it affected my health or sex life, which it doesn't."
Adele was named "Best New Artist" and "Best Female Pop Vocal Performance" at the 2008 Grammy Awards. Four years later, Adele won six Grammys.
This year, she won "Best Original Song" at the 2013 Academy Awards and at the Golden Globes for her song "Skyfall," the theme of the latest James Bond installment.
Rivers has criticized several other celebrities for their weight.
Rivers confronted former talk show host Oprah Winfrey, who has battled her weight for most of her adult life, in 1985 about the 50 pounds she gained, MSN reported.
"You shouldn't let that happen to you," she told Winfrey, now 59. "You're a pretty girl and you're single. You must lose the weight!"
Additionally, after the 2011 Super Bowl halftime performance in which singer Christina Aguilera forgot some of the words, Rivers had another comment.
"Christina must have been thinking about food. That's why she forgot the words." Rivers added, "She looked like a pig. How stupid can you get?"
