Secretary of State John Kerry (almost) ruled out the idea of a 2016 presidential run, telling NBC’s "Meet the Press" there's "no scenario whatsoever" that he’s considering a run. Still, he added, "Nobody ever says never."

Kerry was the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, losing to George W. Bush.

Although Hillary Clinton is widely viewed as one of the top Democratic 2016 presidential candidates, Kerry’s name sometimes comes up as a potential runner. But he told “Meet the Press,” “I haven’t thought about it. As you can tell, I’m pretty busy.”

The names that will be on the presidential ballot have been a constant topic of conversation. On Sunday, political commentator Van Jones said Democrats need to be “very worried” about their opponents’ superstar primary lineup.

“This is gonna be the greatest show on Earth. They are beginning to look like the rainbow coalition,” he told ABC News. “You may have a field where you have two Latinos —(Ted) Cruz and (Marco) Rubio — you can have an Asian, (Bobby) Jindal, you could have a woman, Carly Fiorina, you could have a black guy, Herman Cain [sic].”

“And suddenly, you’ve got a very riveting primary on their side, nothing on our side,” Jones added. “I think Democrats should be very worried about that.”

Right now, polls show Clinton has a strong lead over her Democratic rivals. A recent poll found Sen. Elizabeth Warren trailing behind Clinton’s 56 percent with 15 percent, followed by Vice President Joe Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders, each with 8 percent. Warren has consistently said she is not running.
