Jon Gosselin, former reality show star of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," is seeking full custody of his 11-year-old daughter Hannah, but none of the other children, according to an
In Touch magazine article posted Wednesday.
A source told In Touch the issue involved the filming of TLC series "Kate Plus 8" and the girl not wanting to be involved.
"Jon will be filing a petition to modify custody, and if he gets it, he'll be contacting TLC to put a stop to filming [Kate Plus 8]," the source told In Touch. "Hannah doesn't want to film, but Kate is making her and she's not the only child who has no interest in being on the show."
The source told In Touch that the issue reached a head during the children's April 23 visit with their father, and that Hannah balked at going back to Kate Gosselin. Jon Gosselin, 38, reportedly called Berks County Children and Family Services in Pennsylvania and filed a report to take emergency custody, the source told In Touch.
Kate Gosselin, 40, has had primary custody of the children – a pair of sextuplets and twins – since the couple divorced in 2009,
according to Us Weekly. Raising the eight children was the subject of the reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8" that was a breakout hit for TLC when it first aired in 2007, noted Us Weekly. Hannah is one of the sextuplets.
During an interview with the
celebrity talk show "Extra" last November, Gosselin talked about the difficulty he has had attempted to share parenting duties with his ex-wife.
"There is no real relationship (with Kate Gosselin), like we don't talk," Jon Gosselin told "Extra." "(Co-parenting is) just not working at this point in time."
Jon Gosselin added on the show: "I think we both wanted different things. I wanted to settle down and kind of get off TV for a while… and she wanted to further her career."
The former reality star, who has owned up to past financial problems, recently scored a big win in his fledging DJ career by earning a gig at Harrah's Resort in Atlantic City, New Jersey on May 30, according to
People magazine.
TMZ reported he will get $20,000 for his appearance at the establishment.
