Jon & Kate Gosselin's trip to the orthodontist on Tuesday proved painful, and an ensuing fight between the former reality show couple needed the cops to bring it to a resolution, TMZ reported.
The Gosselins, once stars of the hit TLC reality series "Jon & Kate Plus 8” before their bitter divorce in 2009, got into a shouting match at an orthodontist office in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, where one of their children was being treated, TMZ said, citing law enforcement officials.
The argument over the child became so heated that police were summoned, TMZ said, and, in the end, Jon Gosselin took the child home after the appointment.
"The call came in at 1:10 this afternoon for a verbal domestic argument ... over the custody of one of their 13-year-old daughters," "Entertainment Tonight" said, quoting a police department rep. "No one was arrested and the daughter did go home with the father after she expressed that was her desire to do."
The Gosselins are parents of 16-year-old twin daughters Cara and Madelyn, and 13-year-old sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Leah, Alexis and Hannah, ET noted.
Kate Gosselin has full custody, her ex-husband shares physical custody.
It has been 10 years since the Gosselins hit the airways on TLC in 2007 and quickly became one of the most successful reality shows on cable television. Television cameras followed every move of the large family, but marital strife unraveled the series at the height of its popularity.
"Jon & Kate Plus 8" was drawing a record 9.8 million viewers when the couple divorced and show ended in 2009. The drama of managing their family as a divorced couple has often made tabloid headlines.
The show was later rebranded as "Kate Plus 8," with various special series on TLC. The latest three-episode show aired this past July, People magazine said.
