Jon Gosselin is suggesting his ex-wife Kate Gosselin has kept one of his sons from seeing him for more than a year and he says he has little control over which of their eight kids he gets to see for court-ordered visitation.
Gosselin, the former star of the reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8," said on "The Steve Harvey Show" in an episode scheduled to air on Monday that he usually gets to see half of his children at one time, according to
People magazine.
The Gosselins are the parents of 15-year-old twins Mad and Cara, and sextuplets Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel, who are now 11, noted People.
"I haven't seen my son in a year-and-a-half," Gosselin, 38, said on a video released by the show. "I don't know why. I can't talk to him."
When Harvey asked if he's been given a reason, Gosselin responded, "Nothing. Zero. It's like a stop gap. It's really frustrating. (It's) more frustrating than anger."
"Most of the time, I get four," Jon Gosselin told Harvey. "I haven't seen all my kids together in about three years. I only get what I get. … Whoever comes down the driveway, that's who I get."
Gosselin said he and Kate Gosselin, 40, do not co-parent and added that he feels the children are stuck in the middle.
"I parent. She parents," Gosselin told Harvey. "At one point in time I would love to co-parent but at this point in time I don't see that happening."
A source close to Kate Gosselin said she wouldn't make a statement on her ex-husband's interview, said People.
"As always, Kate has no desire to comment on Jon's life or his choices," the source told People. "She will never comment on the father of her children."
"Jon & Kate Plus 8" started in 2007 on TLC as television cameras followed the parents and their challenges in raising eight children. By the spring of 2009, the series was at a height of its popularity, drawing a record 9.8 million viewers, according to
Us Weekly.
In June 2009, the couple announced they were separating and Kate Gosselin filed for divorce later that year, noted Us Weekly.
The ups and downs for both of them since then have been extensively covered by the news media.
