Judy Huth's Underage Sex Suit Forces Deposition by Bill Cosby

Attorneys for Judy Huth will get to ask Bill Cosby questions under oath in connection with her lawsuit that he sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion back in 1974 when she was a teenager.

NBC News reported that a Los Angeles Superior Court judge ordered the 78-year-old comedian to give his deposition on Oct. 9, now that the California Supreme Court has rejected his appeal in the case. The comedian's attorney had claimed that an earlier ruling against Cosby contained procedural errors.

Huth, now 56, has charged in her civil lawsuit that Cosby gave her alcohol at the Playboy Mansion when she was 15 and eventually sexually molested her.

The Hollywood Reporter said that since Huth was a minor at the time of the alleged offense, and that she claims she only recently discovered her psychological injuries, the lawsuit has continued on while the statute of limitations has prevented other lawsuits against the comedian to go forward.

"We are pleased that we will now be able to move ahead without further delay on Ms. Huth's case," Gloria Allred, Huth's attorney, said in a statement, noted NBC News.

Cosby's lawyers were still looking for grounds to get the lawsuit thrown out after the high court agreed to let the depositions proceed, noted THR

"The Court grants Plaintiff's ex parte application and orders the deposition of Defendant to proceed first, followed by that of the Plaintiff," Judge Craig Karlan stated in his order.

While Huth's civil case moves forward, Los Angeles police are investigating a claim by Chloe Goins, 24, who charged that Cosby assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, when she was 18, reported the Los Angeles Times.

Goins was interviewed by Los Angeles police detectives in January and officials said they are continuing to look into the claims, so detectives haven't presented a case to prosecutors yet.

More than 40 women around the country have accused Cosby of sexually assaulting or molesting them, but the vast majority of the cases are past the statute of limitations. In many of the cases, the women charged that Cosby drugged them before sexually assaulting or molesting them.
