Justin Bieber, his dad, and their entourage reportedly refused to stop smoking marijuana or harassing a flight attendant during a trip from Canada to the U.S. last week, which led to the pop star being detained at a New Jersey airport for several hours.

A law enforcement official said that the flight crew warned Bieber, 19, and his father, Jeremy Bieber, more than once to stop smoking pot during the chartered private flight from Canada to N.J.'s Teterboro Airport Friday. At one point, the source said, the odor of marijuana was so bad that the pilots had to put on oxygen masks, according to NBC News.

The rowdy group was also accused of verbally harassing a flight attendant, who was reportedly forced to spend much of the flight up near the cockpit.

"The captain of the flight stated that he warned the passengers, including Bieber, on several occasions to stop smoking marijuana," an official incident report states, per NBC News. "The captain also stated he needed to request that the passengers stop their harassing behavior toward the flight attendant and after several warnings asked the flight attendant to stay with him near the cockpit to avoid any further abuse."

Upon arrival in New Jersey, Bieber was met by officials from Customs and Border Protection, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the New York/New Jersey Port Authority Police Department who used drug-sniffing dogs to search the plane for contraband.

Though Bieber admitted to smoking marijuana, the officials found no additional drugs and he was eventually released, NBC News reported.

Bieber, A Canadian citizen who lives in the U.S. on a work visa, has had repeated run-ins with police in recent weeks. He faces possible felony vandalism charges for allegedly throwing eggs at his neighbor's home in California earlier this year. Two weeks ago he was arrested in Miami Beach for allegedly drag racing his rented Lamborghini and driving under the influence, and he was also taken into police custody in Canada last week on assault charges stemming from a December altercation with a limo driver.

Bieber's antics have spurred people to start a petition to have him deported back to Canada for good. As of Thursday, the petition on the White House's website has garnered nearly 250,000 signatures.
