Pop star Justin Bieber will be the voice of KITT, the talking car from TV’s "Knight Rider" series in a coming comedy film called “Killing Hasselhoff.”

The role will be a departure from the original KITT, voiced in the 1980s TV series by William Daniels, known for his role as Mr. Feeny in "Boy Meets World."

The singer won the role as the result of an exchange of favors between Bieber and actor David Hasselhoff, the latter told The Insider With Yahoo.

Hasselhoff explained: "He called me and asked me for a favor and I called him back and said, 'Can you do me a favor?' and he said, 'Yes,' I did his favor first because I love the Bieb. I think he's a cool kid and he gets a bad rap. He's a good guy and I like his music, I've known him for five years."

“Killing Hasselhoff” follows a guy who tries to win a celebrity death pool by hiring a hit man to kill David Hasselhoff. The movie is being directed by Darren Grant and will include Jim Jeffries and Jon Lovitz.

Twitter users were not impressed.
