Justin Bieber has challenged Tom Cruise to a cage fight and top MMA athlete Conor McGregor is prepared to host the whole event. It all began with an unprompted tweet fired off by Bieber on Sunday, taunting Cruise to a battle in the octagon.
"Tom if you dont take this fight your scared and you will never live it down. Who is willing to put on the fight? @danawhite ?" Bieber wrote in a post that soon went viral.
McGregor thought it was such a great idea that he offered to have his company host the fight- "if Tom Cruise is man enough." McGregor fueled things with a tweet wondering whether or not Cruise had "the sprouts to fight, like he does in the movies?"
After giving it some thought, McGregor then decided the whole concept was such a brilliant idea that he challenged Mark Wahlberg to a fight of his own.
"Back when mark wahlberg was marky mark, I’d’ve still slapped the ears off him and took my ufc shares back," he wrote in a follow-up tweet.
Cruise has yet to respond to the posts, but people have been choosing sides on social media, and the majority appeared to be backing Cruise.
"Tom Cruise was an all state wrestler in high school and has been training for over thirty years...You can’t eat a burrito correctly...Sit down Biebs," @tonyposnanski commented on Bieber's post. "I would wager every dollar I have or will have on Tom Cruise if this fight were to happen," added @jdanielford.
Fox News took a look at the stats to determine who would have the upper hand in the fight. Cruise stands at 5’ 7" and weighs 170 pounds while Bieber reportedly has 2 inches on Cruise but weighs just 145.5 pounds. The fight could go either way.
