Is Kayne West "OK," talk show host Ellen DeGeneres asked the rapper’s mother-in-law Kris Jenner during a taping of a show that will air Friday.
"What’s going on and is he okay?" DeGeneres asked Jenner. "Those are my two questions."
Jenner, the mother of the rapper's wife Kim Kardashian-West and so-called "momager" of the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" media franchise, was diplomatic in her answer about her controversial son-in-law, People magazine reported.
"You know, Kanye has a lot of love for all of you, all of his fans, and everybody who's been there to support him forever," Jenner told the "Ellen" audience. "And, I know that he will explain himself in his own way.”
"And, I think that anything he does – and I just think this is important to say is – he always does things with really good intentions. So, I'm going to let him explain himself when the time is ready and… I just keep rolling on."
After several days of erratic behavior in November 2016, West was admitted to UCLA Medical to be treated for exhaustion, the family told CNN. The headlines at that time were calling it a breakdown.
West slowly re-emerged in public attention and just recently sparked a media firestorm by throwing himself into politics and proclaiming his love for President Donald Trump on Twitter.
The tweet reportedly cost him millions of fans on Twitter.
On Tuesday, during a TMZ Live interview, West implied that slavery was a "choice" for African-Americans.
"When you hear about slavery for 400 years. For 400 years?! That sounds like a choice," West said, leading to an "intense" exchange with one of the TMZ staffers.
Now West has been popping up with opinions all over the internet, social media, television and beyond. He will be a featured speaker on Saturday at the Clark County Republican convention in Nevada, the Las Vegas Sun reported on Thursday
He's even tweeted about a possible presidential run.
Kim Kardashian-West has explained her husband's busy persona on Twitter, saying the rapper is simply a man ahead of his time.
