Kate Upton Proposed to – by Stuff the Mascot, Not Justin Verlander

By    |   Monday, 10 February 2014 07:50 AM EST

Kate Upton received a marriage proposal over the weekend but it wasn’t from her baseball player boyfriend Justin Verlander. It was from Stuff, the Orlando Magic's mascot.

Upton, 21, attended Friday night's basketball game between the Orlando and Oklahoma City Thunder and it seemed that someone other than the 30-year-old Detroit Tigers pitcher had his eye on the supermodel.

At one point, Verlander briefly stepped away and Stuff swooped in to make his move and propose to Upton.

According to a post-game tweet from Stuff, the model neither accepted nor declined the offer.

Verlander later joked that he was only "gone for 5 seconds!"

This isn’t the first time a suitor has taken a public stab at Upton's affections. Last year, a high school senior invited the model to prom via a vial YouTube video. Unfortunately, Upton was too busy to attend the dance.
