Katherine McKee, former lover of late entertainer Sammy Davis Jr., became the latest woman to accuse Bill Cosby of sexually assaulting her, admitting she remained silent about the incident until the recent allegations against the comedian, according to the New York Daily News.
More than 20 women have charged Cosby, 77, with sexual assault with many of the charges dating back to the 1960s and beyond the statute of limitations.
McKee, an actress and former Las Vegas showgirl, told the Daily News in an interview that her encounter with Cosby happened in a Michigan hotel room in the early 1970s when he was on tour with her.
"Back then, I was Sammy's road wife," McKee told the Daily News in describing her relationship with legendary "Rat Pack" entertainer. "He had an open marriage, and we were lovers. That's how it went."
McKee told the tabloid that Cosby attacked her after she returned from a barbecue restaurant where she had picked up an order for him.
"I remember I walked in the door, and he had a robe and cap on," McKee told the Daily News. "He took the ribs from my hands and just grabbed me. He spun me around, pulled my panties down, and just took it. We were still standing at the door when he attacked me. It was so fast and so shocking and so unbelievable."
McKee told the newspaper she never told Davis because of his friendship with Cosby and at times blamed herself for being put in that position with the comedian and not doing more to get away from him.
"It was a rape, but it seemed so strange to call it that," McKee told the Daily News. "We think of rape as a stranger who attacks you in a parking lot. I chalked it up to another powerful person in Hollywood who just felt he could take what he wanted from women."
Cosby has been largely silent on many of the allegations on the advice of his attorneys Martin Singer and John B. Schmitt,
according to the New York Post. Earlier this month, supermodel Beverly Johnson joined the list of women who charged that the comedian drugged and raped her, noted the Post.
