Katie Couric will make her Yahoo debut Friday in an interview with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.
The former "Today" show anchor, 57, launched a Tumblr site this week that will chronicle her work at Yahoo and allow her audience to directly participate in her interviews by submitting questions.

"Sure, I still love the feel of newsprint on my fingers but like everyone else I know I'm getting most of my news these days online and on the go," Couric said in a video promoting her new role. "Like the people who read Yahoo News and check out the news digest everyday, I'm curious about the world about me. I want to better understand this crazy, complicated world we're living in and that’s why I'm really excited to be the global anchor of Yahoo News. I'll be talking to all kinds of interesting people — politicians, thought leaders, cultural icons, tech titans — and I want you to have a direst line to these people too."
Couric, a veteran journalist who's jumped from NBC to ABC to CBS over the course of her 35-year career, was appointed global anchor for Yahoo News in January after her daytime syndicated talk show "Katie" was canceled.
She is currently crowd-sourcing questions for her Friday interview with Bloomberg.
"From gun control to smoking to obesity, he’s never been shy about tackling tough or controversial issues," Couric wrote on Tumblr. "Now in his new role at the United Nations he’s taking on climate change . . . in cities all around the world."
