Kelly LeBrock, whose roles in 1980s films like "Woman in Red" and "Weird Science" made her a pinup sensation, said her 1996 divorce from actor Steven Seagal shattered her self-esteem and left her afraid to leave her home.

LeBrock, 53, who was born in New York City but raised in London, told the Daily Mail she's completing a tell-all book about her nasty divorce and preparing for a return to Hollywood.

"I admit, I became a hermit," said LeBrock. "When I split with Steven, the divorce was very ugly, and details of the case were on the evening news. I didn't want my kids seeing it, so I simply got rid of the TV. I moved my kids out of L.A. so they could grow up with real people — the kids of gas pump attendants, plumbers and real family people."

She said her stormy relationship with Seagal would "tailspin into a horror story" shortly after they got married.

LeBrock, a working model before getting her start in movies, said the book has been difficult to write, particularly one incident that she said started their relationship down the road toward divorce, but declined to say what it was.

It would be Seagal's relationship with the couple's babysitter Arissa Wolf that would be the final straw in the withering marriage, according to CelebrityTimeMachine.com.

"Writing about that experience in my book has been incredibly painful, but I’m relieved the truth will finally come out," said LeBrock.

The couple had three children from the marriage.

"'I had absolutely no self-esteem," LeBrock said. "I hated myself. I decided to swap my old life in Beverly Hills for a new one in the country, in Santa Barbara. I feared everything and didn’t want to leave the house."

LeBrock is best remembered as the object of Gene Wilder's affection in the comedy "Woman in Red" in 1984, followed by John Hughes' teen flick "Weird Science" in 1985, which co-starred Anthony Michael Hall and Bill Paxton.
