Khloé Kardashian is under fire once again -- this time for calling a fan who worked overtime to buy a pair of her Good American jeans "cute."
Kardashian’s Good American denims ranges from $159 to $189. In order to afford the item, Twitter user Kaelynn Abner put in 20 hours overtime at work, People magazine reported.
"So I realized I have to work 20 hours in order to afford @khloekardashian jeans...and I’m in love with them...catch me picking up extra shifts," the Good American fan tweeted.
The post earned a reply from Kardashian herself, who said it was "so cute" that her customer was working extra hours to buy a pair of denims.
Cute?
Many found the remark demeaning and offensive and it was not long before social media was flooded with criticism towards Kardashian.
"Not to sound like a hater but this actually upsets me!! someone had to work a stupid amount of hours to afford ONE pair of jeans. A millionaire thinks it’s “cute” that ppl have to calculate & think how many hours they have to work to afford little things," commented Twitter user Zoe Moon.
"Sick. She doesn’t even realize how tone deaf this is bc she’s been rich her whole life lol. “Being poor is so cute! lol,” another Twitter user remarked.
Last week Kardashian fielded an onslaught of criticism after promoting a diet product in an Instagram post. British actress and model Jameela Jamil, a fierce campaigner for the body positive movement, was quick to slam her.
"If you're too irresponsible to: a) own up to the fact that you have a personal trainer, nutritionist, probable chef, and a surgeon to achieve your aesthetic, rather than this laxative product… And b) tell them the side effects of this NON-FDA approved product, that most doctors are saying aren't healthy," Jamil said. "Side effects such as: Possible Flat Tummy Tea side effects are cramping, stomach pains, diarrhea and dehydration… Then I guess I have to."
