A small kid destroyed a large Lego sculpture of a "Zootopia" character an hour into the opening of an expo in Ningbo, China on Sunday.
According to Facebook page of state-run China Central Television, an artist named Zhao spent three days constructing the life size image of the character with Legos. The artist posted a photo gallery on the social media site Weibo of how he put the project together.
The tech website Mashable wrote that a young Chinese boy soon pushed over the large fox sculpture, which cost an estimated $15,170. The boy's parents were "very apologetic" about the child's action. CCTV wrote that the child was believed to be 4 or 5 years old.
"[Zhao's] photo gallery concluded with an image of broken Lego pieces scattered on the ground," wrote CCTV. "No words were needed, the pictures eloquently displayed his heartbreak."
The artist accepted the parent's apology and did not demand to be compensated.
The animated "Zootopia," which features the voice of Jason Bateman as Nick, along with Oscar-winners J.K. Simmons and Octavia Spencer, has made $336.2 million domestically and another $657.5 million overseas,
according to Box Office Mojo.
"More than 60,000 comments and views were generated after the artist, identified only by his surname of Zhao, wrote on his microblog site that he felt depressed and frustrated after his exhibit was pushed over,"
wrote the South China Morning Post.
"Most online comments left by people after his post said the child and his parents should be punished, while some other users said the shopping mall should have taken more precautions to protect the exhibit," the Morning Post continued.
Numerous fans expressed sadness over the damaged Lego sculpture.
